Just Add Ink #623 Colour

 

Hello there,

time for a new Just Add Ink challenge, and this week Di has a colour challenge for us. It's bright, bold and perfect for Christmas so that's the theme I went with. Here are the colours.

I decided to pull out watercolour paper for this project, this is how it turned out.

This was fun to do and definitely not perfect as I had colour leak across boundaries in some of the fine detail areas, but I figure that is forgivable and adds to the arty homemade feel. To add Christmas sparkle I silver embossed the bauble, added a silver foil bow, silver sequins and splashes of Wink of Stella. If I had added a bauble to the inside there would have been no room for a Christmas message so I just added a little watercolored Christmas tree instead. I really loved how bright and intense the colours came out in this project!

Just Add Ink #439 Gift Boxes

Hi all,
well I am amidst the crazy run up to Christmas and I don't even want to think how few days are left. I am looking forward to some time off over Christmas and into January. But before I get there let me share my project for this week's Just Add Ink challenge. This week Patrice has asked us to Just Add Gift Boxes and the challenge will run for two weeks, closing January 2nd. There will be no winner or runner ups for this one, as the Just Add Ink team will be on our annual summer break, we would just like everyone to share the Christmas projects they have been making for family, friends and colleagues.

As my nieces and nephews have grown older I switched over to buying them all a gift card as a Christmas present but to make it special each year I package/ present it differently. This year I added the gift cards into little boxes, each one decorated the same but different.

Here are the first three.

I made six in total.

Once I had my design worked out, the mass production went pretty quickly, all I had to do then was add a little name tag to each one.

Just Add Ink #430 Inspiration

Hi there,
well it was back to work this week and the weather appropriately regressed to grey wintery skies! But before I did I was able to put together a project for this week's Just Add Ink challenge. This week Rochelle has asked to Just Add Inspiration, here's the inspiration picture.

I pulled the colours (pink, pale blue and light green) and the idea of foliage and flowers and morphed that into a Christmas wreath. Here's how it turned out.

The most involved part of this was the die cutting, but once all the pieces were cut it was actually pretty quick to add extra colour and depth to all my pieces using SU! blends alcohol markers. Accents of silver glimmer, rhinestones and Wink of Stella add the necessary Christmas bling.
