Just Add Ink #393 Colour

Hello there,
this week at Just Add Ink we are back to our regular schedule and Rochelle has kicked off the challenges by asking us to Just Add a Colour Combo. The colours are lovely and fresh - here they are.

In Australia we have lots of parrots of all sizes and colours and Lemon Lime Twist made me think of some of our smaller budgerigar ones - so parrots having a birthday it was! We don't actually get budgies in our garden; however, we do get rosellas, pink and grey galahs and a regular sulfur crested cockatoo visitor to the bird feeder.

So this was really a simple card, just some colouring, a little bit of fussy cutting, some texture (I actually pulled the woodgrain panel out of my scrap pile!) and of course a bit of sparkle (the shimmery embossing paste clouds were an after thought but I'm glad I added them.

The Just Add Ink DT have a gorgeous array of projects so do go check them out and then join in the challenge with your project - we'd love to see it!

Thanks for visiting,
Kim

Colour INKspiration 26

Hello there,
welcome to the Colour INKspiration 24 blog hop. If you are hopping your way around the blog hop, you will have arrived from Monique Fielder's blog. Wasn't Monique's butterfly beautiful! If you are starting the hop here but would like to go to the start at the  Colour INKspiration challenge page over on Facebook, just click the link to be redirected and ask to join the group, that way you can load your projects directly to the Facebook group and join in the fun every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month. Here's the INKspiration picture.

All those nets and watery colours meant I couldn't resist pulling out my mermaid for a card. One thing I knew I had to incorporate was the new glitter flakes, they made me think of golden dubloons!

I knew I had an old stamp  - a pirate's chest - so I inked it up (selectively omitting the skull and crossbones). Once it was coloured I had my golden dubloons spilling out. My mermaid has discovered this treasure and is trailing gold coins as she is swimming away. I had fun with all the inkiness and colouring for this one. Hope you can join us and have some fun too! Next up, on the blog hop is the Mel Pagano with another awesome project. Enjoy!

Just Add Ink #392 Something New Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to a new year at Just Add Ink!
We are starting the year off with a blog hop, to showcase this week's challenge, Just Add Something New. You may have arrived from the very clever Jackie Aitken's blog, be starting the blog hop here with me, or you can go to Just Add Ink and start there.

I managed to acquire, just a few new stamping goodies, over the last month so it wasn't hard to find something new. It was actually more a challenge to decide what something new to use. (Not a bad situation to be in ;). I was lucky enough to pick up the Bubble Over stamp set at the SU! OnStage event in November and thought it was about time it saw some ink.

Here's what  I came up with - it's colourful!

Surely it has to be a good thing to start the year with a burst of rainbow colour! A bottle bursting with bubbles seemed to be a great way to bring in that rainbow colour. So with lots of help from post-it notes I created the streams of colour, adding lots of little splashy flecks of wink of stella, and some silver gleaming streams as well.

The Just Add Ink team have a wonderfully varied array of projects all made with 'Something New'. The lovely Rachael Lewsley is the next stop for the blog hop, enjoy and please join in and show us Something New that you have!

Thanks for visiting,
Kim
