Just Add Ink #379 Inspiration

Hi there,
well we are in the middle of school holiday chaos, routines are out the window (ok that can be kind of nice) and the odd sleep in has occurred. I have been squeezing in stamping whenever I can for the new Just Add Ink challenge. This week Kelly has set us an inspiration challenge. You can use colours, patterns or objects from the picture to inspire your project. I had to make my DH a birthday card and I decided to try something different, theme wise and card wise (warning it's a photo heavy post!).

My DH has discovered a passion for getting out into garden this year and I know he loves interactive cards so the two combined meant I was going to try making my first pop up cube card! I used Vanessa Webb's video to help me figure out how to do it. It was surprisingly easy to do and looks anything but easy!

The kids were both impressed with the pop-up cube card so hopefully my DH will be too. I would definitely recommend giving one a go! Hope you can join us for the challenge this week, but before you do go check out all the other fabulous projects from the Just Add Ink DT!

Thanks for visiting,
Kim

Just Add Ink #378 Texture

Hello there,
well I've had a crazy busy week at work so I'll keep this short and sweet. Before everything went into overdrive I did manage to make my project for this week's Just Add Ink challenge. This week Di has challenge us to Just Add Texture.

September/ October is birthday season for many of the men in my family so this was perfect for making a somewhat funky card for my little bro.

I went all out on the colour and texture on this one! Over the brayered background I used embossing paste to add a medallion design, then over that added the sentiment. Layers of shiny copper foil, wood embossed stitched vellum, framed by die cut and punched foliage and lastly some DSP and burlap accents.

Don't forget to go check out the gorgeous work of the rest of the design team and then come back and join us!

Thanks for visiting,
Kim
