Just Add Ink #463 Choose Two

Hello there,
more blooms for more bleak winter days this week. Colouring is a great way to sit inside, in the warm, and look out at the bare garden. Last weekend I shared the table with kids who were playing a noisy but fun game of Uno while I worked on my project for the new challenge at Just Add Ink. This week Jan has asked us to Just Choose Two. Of the three option below, choose two and feature them in your project.

I decided to go with foil and sequins.

I die cut my silver foil with one of the beautiful new Detailed Band dies. I love the swirly intricate lacework that you get. That proved to be a great base for showcasing the two flowers that frame my sentiment.  The Bird Ballad DSP had a really strong influence on my colour choices for the flowers and I ended up going with the slightly more muted earthy tones of red. Simple details like stitching and transitioning the sentiment colour by stamping off and of course sequins finished it all off.

The Just Add Ink DT have plenty of beautiful projects to share with you so please go check them out and then come back and join in the challenge!

Kim

Just Add Ink #462 Sketch

Hello there,
well we are right in the depths of winter here so I was thinking a dose of some bright floral colour would be good for me! This week's Just Add Ink challenge, Just Add a Sketch, this week from me ;) was a great way to put my desire for florals into action! Here's the sketch.

This is how it turned out on a rather grey cold winter afternoon.

There was so much colour in this that, shock! horror! I actually decided to leave off sequins or any other extra embellishments! All I added to the final coloured flowers was a swish of wink of stella to add that subtle sparkle. I actually coloured up three bloom clusters, kept one whole and chopped the other two up so I could rearrange as required. It turned out to be a great way to frame my sentiment.

Tip: Don't be afraid to cut stamped images, or even stamps, apart to make them work more for you!

To add some extra omph I embossed my sentiment onto some Melon Mambo card stock and fussy cut out 'celebrate'. The Just Add Ink DT have so many lovely projects to show you so please go check them out and then come back and join in the challenge.

Thanks for visiting,
Kim
