Just Add Ink #424 Texture

Hello there,
eeek it was back to freezing cold frosty mornings this week but the promise of spring is on the way as some hardy optimistic trees are already producing blossoms which makes me smile!  I obviously had blossoms on my mind when I was putting my project together for this week's  Just Add Ink challenge. This week Di has challenged us to Just Add Texture.

Here's how it turned out.

When I think texture two things spring to mind - dry embossing and embossing paste. Embossing paste was the way I decided to go, tinting Shimmery White paste with several tones of pink and then using a mask to create a pattern. Once that was dry (it doesn't take long) I was able to layer some clusters of flowers over the top to frame the sentiment. An added little element of texture is the stitching detail and I also embossed the sentiment. This card is destined for a new teen who loves pink and sparkle so I think I'm on a winner!

The Just Add Ink DT have lots of wonderful projects to show you so please do go check them out and then come back and join in the challenge!

Thanks for visiting,
Kim

Just Add Ink #404 Shaker

Hello there,
this week at Just Add Ink we have a really fun challenge for you. Di has asked us to Just Add a Shaker. There lots of ways to make shakers, and so many different fun things you can add to be shaken - confetti, sequins, micro beads, glitter.

Here's what I came up with.

This one was made for a friend who loves tulips and teal and of course the jar was the perfect place for a shaker! As you can see it was all about the colouring, so I kept the rest fairly monochromatic, adding in some texture and sparkle using Shimmery embossing paste and grounding my jar of flowers on a little woodgrain shelf. I really enjoyed the chance to just sit down and colour in lots and lots of flowers!

The Just Add Ink DT have a really fun and creative array of shakers to show you so please go check them out, and then come back and join in the challenge.

Thanks for visiting,
Kim
