Just Add Ink #423 Colour

Hello there,
sheesh it has been a busy week and I am really glad it's Friday! Friday also means a new Just Add Ink challenge. This week we are asking you to Just Add a Colour Combo (I chose the colours). Here are they are.

And here's what I came up with. I put together the colours hoping they would be suitable for Father's Day card and that is what I made for my FIL.

My FIL is fond of a coffee and honestly there aren't many of us that don't start the day with a hot cuppa of some kind. I added in some texture by using a stitched framelit and Wood Textures DSP and a bit of sheen by embossing the cup lid. Ok and I snuck in a few sequins to represent the steam and aroma seeping up out of the cup. I figured I could get away with that even if it was a masculine card!

Just Add Ink #390 Sketch

Hi there,
to end the week here on the blog I have switched out of Christmas mode. It just so happened that this week's Just Add Ink challenge was just perfect to make a birthday card for my Dad. This week Narelle is asking us to Just Add a Sketch. It's a classic sketch that you can turn to any occasion. Here it is.

And here is what I made for my Dad.

It's getting harder now to come up with original ideas that my Dad would like. I was struggling till I thought - coffee. he definitely likes his coffee, and I figured with 85 years under his belt he would appreciate the sentiment too! I kept it pretty stripped down, just adding a couple of strips of ribbon to add texture and some vellum leaves (Oh and some sequins, but being black I figure they count as acceptable masculine bling :)
