Just Add Ink #436 Sketch

Hi all,
it has been a busy busy week so I'm going to keep it simple. This week at Just Add Ink we have a new challenge for you and this week Narelle has asked us to Just Add a Sketch. I was late with a birthday card for my nephew so you'll notice a change from the current Christmas programming ;) Here's the sketch.

I rotated the sketch and then flipped it as well, which made it the perfect canvas for my space themed card.

I went with a watercolour galaxy background and then using the sketch elements added my punch art BB8 droid as the main feature, and to make it extra special and fun for a ten year old added a wobbler so his "head" wobbles. I CASED the droid punch art from this pin by carriestamps. Unfortunately it doesn't link back to the actual droid post so I just pulled out all my circle punches and played with them till I had everything in the right proportions.

Just Add Ink #435 Inspiration

Hello there,
there was a somewhat unplanned break for the blog as I've been busy. First, by meeting up with some of my fav stamping friends at Stampin Up's! OnStage event in Melbourne and then coming back to be swamped by work. I finally made it through to the weekend and was able to put ink to paper for the new Just Add Ink challenge. This week I have suggested we Just Add Inspiration, here's the picture. You can use the colour, patterns or objects in the picture to inspire your project.

And here is what I came up with - quiet woodland scene.

I kept the colours, subdued and closer to neutral bringing in some subtle green and warm grey tones. Then added my two deers front and centre in a little clearing. It turned just the perfect level of rustic and I think captures several aspects of the inspiration picture.

Just Add Ink #433 Colour

Hi there,
my tropical Santa, for this week's Just Add Ink challenge turned out to be very appropriate as we've been hit by tropical temperatures and I wouldn't have minded being at the beach (as long as I was under a big shady tree) instead of at work! This week Jo suggested we Just Add a Colour Combo. Here are the colours.

I ended up loving this bright combo of colours. Here's what I came up with.

I bit of stamping, colouring and embossing brought this card together really quickly which was perfect for a busy weekend. I think this is one of my favourite Christmas cards so far this year!
