Just Add Ink #411 Sketch

Hello there,
it will be short and sweet this week as I'm a tired little Mumma who wants to get to bed! It's just been a busy week. Before that craziness started I did find time to make something for the new Just Add Ink challenge. This week Jan has asked us to Just Add a Sketch - it's a keeper! Check out the rest of the DT projects to see how versatile it is! Here it is.

I made a (belated) birthday card for my Mum (in my defence I will be seeing her next week for the first time since before her birthday). Mum grows orchids in her garden so I knew exactly what to use!

Trying to capture the subtle embossed stripes in the background here.  To get that subtle embossed effect rather than running my card stock through my Big Shot with the embossing folder I rolled over it with a rolling pin, varying the pressure you can see it a bit better in the shot below.

The flowers were all stamped on watercolour paper and then coloured using an aqua painter. The colours really glow in real life which is very difficult to capture on a cloudy winter afternoon!

Hope you can join us in the challenge.

Thanks for visiting,
Kim

  2. I'm sure your Mum will be suitably impressed with this everlasting orchid. The boldness of the flowers really make it pop.
