Just Add Ink #439 Gift Boxes

Hi all,
well I am amidst the crazy run up to Christmas and I don't even want to think how few days are left. I am looking forward to some time off over Christmas and into January. But before I get there let me share my project for this week's Just Add Ink challenge. This week Patrice has asked us to Just Add Gift Boxes and the challenge will run for two weeks, closing January 2nd. There will be no winner or runner ups for this one, as the Just Add Ink team will be on our annual summer break, we would just like everyone to share the Christmas projects they have been making for family, friends and colleagues.

As my nieces and nephews have grown older I switched over to buying them all a gift card as a Christmas present but to make it special each year I package/ present it differently. This year I added the gift cards into little boxes, each one decorated the same but different.

Here are the first three.

I made six in total.

Here's a closer picture of the last three.

Once I had my design worked out, the mass production went pretty quickly, all I had to do then was add a little name tag to each one.

The Just Add Ink DT have some gorgeous gift boxes to share and we would really love to see what you have made so please whether it's before or after Christmas, remember the challenge is open till Jan 2nd we'd love to see the gift boxes you made this festive season!

Thanks for visiting and a very Merry Christmas to you all. I'll be having a little summer blog break but Just Add Ink, and I, will be back January 18th with our annual blog hop to kick start the year.

Just Add Ink #438 Colour

Hello there,
well I'm back after doing some travelling for work last week and it was a real delight to pull out my crafty stuff when I got home. I was really keen to add another Christmas card to my stash as well as making a project this week's Just Add Ink challenge. This week Nikki is asking us to Just Add a Colour Combo, with a twist, you get to choose your third colour! Here are the colours.

I choose Gray Granite as my third colour for my Christmas scene inspired by one of the DSP patterns in the Festive Farmhouse DSP.

I started by colouring up two Santa, stamping some trees and then trimming them all out to create my scene. I rarely use DSP but something about the starry pattern called to me and it proved to be a versatile colour to chose!

The Just Add Ink DT have a some wonderful projects to show you so do go check them out and then come back and join in the challenge.

Thanks for visiting,
Kim

Just Add Ink #436 Sketch

Hi all,
it has been a busy busy week so I'm going to keep it simple. This week at Just Add Ink we have a new challenge for you and this week Narelle has asked us to Just Add a Sketch. I was late with a birthday card for my nephew so you'll notice a change from the current Christmas programming ;) Here's the sketch.

I rotated the sketch and then flipped it as well, which made it the perfect canvas for my space themed card.

I went with a watercolour galaxy background and then using the sketch elements added my punch art BB8 droid as the main feature, and to make it extra special and fun for a ten year old added a wobbler so his "head" wobbles. I CASED the droid punch art from this pin by carriestamps. Unfortunately it doesn't link back to the actual droid post so I just pulled out all my circle punches and played with them till I had everything in the right proportions.

That's it from me today, but do go check out the rest of the Just Add Ink DT's projects they are always stunning and then come back and join in the challenge!

Thanks for visiting,
Kim
