JAI 248 Just add a colour combo

Hello there,
well I have barely recovered from the birthday festivities this week (as you can imagine from a 10 year old's point of view the more birthday festivities the better the birthday) but despite that I do have a new Just Add Ink challenge for you. This week we have a lovely colour challenge for you (from me :). Here's the swatch.

And here's what I came up with on my first play with the new SU! butterfly thinlets.

I can't resist a second view - cause I really did like the way it turned out. This lets you see too that the butterfly is inset into the panel.

As you can probably guess I cut quite a few different butterflies for this, and piecing it together was definitely a labour of love - but in all honesty I do love being able to putter and I had a rare window the day I made this to indulge that. The really fun part was deciding which colours should go where - the pattern variations and colour combinations you could play with for this would be endless!

Do check out the rest of the DT for some colourful inspiration. Hope you can join us!

Thanks for visiting,
Kim

  1. Hi Kim. I love your colour combo, I like the B/fly with all those colours and the background on the Sahara sands really make it all stand out lovely.

  3. Paper piecing is always a joy (not) but so worth it, as this beautiful butterfly shows. Its gorgeous and love the detail the die cuts out. It really is the star of the card, and rightly so!!

  4. This is such a WOW card Kim! That butterfly is stunning and made even more so by the way you have paper pieced and inlaid it into the main panel, gorgeous!
