Just Add Ink #402 Choose Two

Hello there,
well another hectic week has whizzed past and Easter is upon us. I am truly looking forward to some sleep ins, big cups of tea (with chocolate on the side), curling up on the couch and reading, and I might just sneak some stamping in there too! I was lucky enough to snatch some time last weekend for this week's Just Add Ink challenge. This week Nikki is asking us to Just Choose Two, you get to choose two of the three options below and use them on your project.

Here's what I came up with.

This was the perfect challenge to pull out Best Birds! I started by sponging my clouds through the stencil, adding sparkle to some selected clouds using shimmery embossing paste. I stamped my images onto watercolour paper, coloured them using an aqua painter, and then die cut them out. Having arranged everything I added some final sparkle with sequins and silver thread mixed in with the linen thread and twine.

The Just Add Ink DT have lots of gorgeous Choose Two projects to show you so please do go check them out and then come back and join in the challenge.

Thanks for visiting,
Kim

Colour INKspiration 04...Design Team

Hello there,
well today I have the pleasure of debuting as a member of the Colour INKspiration Design Team (which is quite exciting!)

If you are hopping your way around the blog hop, you will have arrived from Bronwyn Eastley's blog and I'm sure you were blown away by her awesome project! If you are starting the hop here but would like to go to the start at the  Colour INKspiration challenge page over on Facebook, just click the link or banner up top to be redirected and ask to join the group, that way you can load your projects directly to the Facebook group and join in the fun every 2nd and 4th Wednesday.

Here's the INKspiration swatch for the new challenge - it's full of colour!

And here is what I created.

That lovely yellow canary(?) caught my eye and so a bird it was. The end result is a little bold, a little lush and perhaps vintage. The challenge runs till March 6. Hope you can join us ! Now next up on the blog hop is Mel Pagano. Enjoy!

JAI #331 Just add wings

Hello there,
crazy busy describes my life right now. I've mostly been busy with good things like a visit by my brother and his kids - that made for a noisy chaotic fun weekend. We took them off into the bush to show them emu's and even better a platypus! And since the annual flower festival was on we took them to that too. Today's challenge from Just Add Ink is also nature related. This week Nikki wants you to Just Add Wings. Lots of options here - birds, bees, planes, angels!

One of the very first sets I ordered from the new SU! annual catalogue was Best Birds which sadly has languished untouched on my shelf. But it languishes no longer, here's what I made with it (minus some gold sequins that I decided I just had to add once I'd taken the photo's - grrr!)

Basically this is all about watercolour. I just stamped up lots of bits and then coloured them using my ink pads and aqua painter. Pink and green was the first colour thought combination that came to mind so that's what I went with. Then I added some little touches of gold to finish it all off.

The rest of the team have lots of wonderful inspiration for you so don't forget to check them out too!

Thanks for visiting,
Kim
