Hello there and Happy New Year!
At Just Add Ink we are kicking 2017 off with our annual blog hop. This one is going to be a fun one! We want you to Just Add a Pop Up or Interactive element to your project this week.
You may have arrived from Shona Chambers blog or you can start with my blog and hop around to visit the rest of the design team, using the Next button located at the end of mine and the rest of the team's blog posts. Grab a cuppa and sit down for a fun and inspirational browse and please come back and link up your pop up/ interactive projects for us to see! Here's what I came up with - something special for my Miss who turns 12 very soon!
The front.
Opening up - yes its a twist and pop card!
Fully open.
Some of the panel detail.
This card proved to be a labour of love. Not so much the twist and pop mechanism but the fiddly masking and embossing detail that I put into it. There are plenty of tutorials for the "twist and pop" card around on the web - the one that I used you can find on Splitcoast Stampers here. As this was going to be my (baby) girls birthday card - it had to, of course, be special - so I clear embossed every layering detail on every ice cream to add some texture and shine. I couldn't add much bulk to the inside, hence the need to mask, but did add a tiny glossed up strawberry and cherry for some extra shiny detail (Fine tip glue pen dried overnight). The big panel of gold glimmer helps too of course ;) A sprinkle of sequins was all that was needed to finish off the front.
Now to continue hopping just click on the next button below. The many fabulous projects from the rest of the Just Add Ink team are waiting there to inspire you!
Thanks for visiting and don't forget to join us in our first challenge for the year!
