Hello there,
another week has flown past and that means it's time for a new Just Add Ink challenge. This week we have a real interesting one for you from Di. We want you to Just Add typography. By typography we mean " the style, arrangement or appearance of typeset matter". If you look for images of typography you will see lots of examples of text/words used to create an image. So that is what I set out to do.
I started by cutting a heart out of copy paper and using that as a mask through which I stamped my big 'love' sentiment, then I filled in the shape of a heart with lots of mix and match words. Then black embossed them all. I used the fine Project Life marker to hand draw in the outside heart shape. At this point I also stamped a few small Pink Pirouette hearts adjacent to the big typography heart just to add a little extra depth. Since this was going to be a wedding card I wanted to tone down all that black. A vellum overlay solved that issue and also meant I could add in lots of sequins, once I had sewn a border around the edge to keep them in. A little sentiment banner over the front finished it off. It's hard to capture the subtle sheen of the embossing and sequins through the vellum - but it does look great IRL!
Hope you can join in the fun this week. Do check out the rest of the DT's fabulous projects.
Thanks for visiting,
Kim

ReplyDeleteOh Kim this is so gorgeous! What a wonderful wedding card! I couldn't help but start singing The Beatles when I saw your beautiful sentiments inside the gorgeous heart :-) And the vellum shaker window is such a lovely soft and fun addition too xx
ReplyDeleteSo soft and pretty. Looks like lots of fun creating this one, and a little different as far as shaker cards go. Love it. x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shaker card Kim! Love how the vellum softens the background heart and then the 'Mr & Mrs' pops right off the page. The inside looks fantastic too! Rochelle xo
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful, modern wedding card, Kim. The mr & mrs sentiment is a perfect pop on top & I just want to reach out to touch & shake it. Lovely!
