JAI 218 Just add a colour combo

Hello there,
its been fun so see all the new SU! goodness getting an outing in the US and Canada. There are already several items high on my wish list!! However, down here in AUS our SU! catalogue still has a few weeks left to run and that means that the 2012-2014 in colors are about to disappear so I thought it would be fun to make sure they had one more outing before retiring. But to make it a bit simpler the challenge this week at Just Add Ink is to Just Add any three of the retiring in colors.

I wanted to create something light and spring flavoured and as I had hardly used Primrose Petals that was my number one colour pick. I paired that with Summer Starfruit and Gumball Green to create a flowery creation for my MIL.

Given the number of stamps set I have, I have a remarkable lack of "Happy Mothers Day" sentiments. But MDS came to rescue! I fired the program up and put "mother" into the search and the first thing that came up was the "Happy Mothers Day" sentiment from All Holidays. So I recoloured the stamp to Primrose Petals, adjusted the size and printed it out onto some Whisper White and then die cut the mat out. I was really chuffed with how easy it was!!

The rest of the front was simply stamping and embossing a whole bunch of petite flowers and then arranging them around the sentiment. A few tiny punched flowers, a little greenery and a scattering of pearls finish it all off.

Do check out the rest of the DT for some colour fun! Hope you can join us...which three colours will you pick?

Thanks for visiting,
Kim

  3. I love that you went with a round base too Kim. It suits all those gorgeous flowers and frames them beautifully. Great tip on the sentiment and must do that myself more often. I have MDS and forget to use it when I don't have a particular sentiment. Thanks!

  4. I agree - I think your MIL will love this. I love how you have used a different shape for the card and very clever to do the MDS sentiment. Love the inside too. Chantell x x

  5. This is such a happy and bright card Kim - so lovely at this time of the year when the weather has cooled significantly. Absolutely love how you achieved your sentiment, I hope you'll sit with me one day and show me how 'easy' it is? xox
