JAI 33 - Just add a sketch

Hi all,

welcome back for another Just Add Ink challenge. This week its a sketch and yep once again I had to have a go on my week off ;) Here's the sketch.

I decided to turn the sketch and make the panel element a christmas bauble. Yes another Christmas card :) But its kind of nice to get a head start on the season! Here's what I can up with - and most unusually very little stamping!

I started by pulling out what's left of my Ski Slope DSP - my favourite SU! Christmas DSP - that decided me on a Real Red base layered with some Baja coloured DSP. I pierced the DSP all around the edges and rounded the bottom corners of DSP and Real Red base. Next I made the bauble simply by punching out 5 scallop circle folding them in half and then adhering each half back to back with another using Tombow. Having made my bauble I then added a strip of 5/8" Real Red grosgrain layered with some white taffeta down the DSP off centred to the left. I worked out where I wanted the bauble to go and then attached a rhinestone brad below the bauble location. I also made a taffeta bow and wrapped the prongs of another rhinestone brad around the middle, this was attached above the bauble. The bauble itself I glued down to the DSP with more Tombow. Then I could wrap the ribbon ends under the DSP and attach that to the base. Final touch was to stamp the sentiment - inking up my stamp first in versamark and then Real Red. Then clear embossing. Because the bauble folds down this is still reasonably mailable which is a bonus! (Although the rhinestones might prove tricky but do it just with a bow and you'd be right). I haven't finished off the inside but then I often don't with Christmas cards as I like to leave lots of room to write an annual hello there message to friends.

Thanks for visiting and if you have time why don't you try your hand at this great sketch and then link your creation back to Just Add Ink.
