Colour INKspiration #43

Hello there,
welcome to the Colour INKspiration 43 blog hop. If you are hopping your way around the blog hop, you will have arrived from Monique Fielder's blog. If you are starting the hop here but would like to go to the start at the  Colour INKspiration challenge page over on Facebook, just click the link to be redirected and ask to join the group, that way you can load your projects directly to the Facebook group.

Here's the INKspiration picture for this week. It's all about the 2018-2020 incolors. You can pick one or all five and use them plus black, vanilla, white and metallics.

Here's what I came up with.

It's all about inky colour this week. I started by sketching out a large sunburst on watercolour paper, trimmed it out and then coloured it with Pineapple Punch and Grapefruit Grove. The deep blue Blueberry Bushel background provides the perfect deep blue sky. Gold embossing, sequins and glimmer paper add the perfect touches of rich glitz to complement my sunshine.

Hope you can join us and have some fun too! The challenge runs till Monday 22nd October so there is plenty of time to join in. Next up, on the blog hop is Rose Packer with another awesome project. Enjoy!

Our INKspiration for this round has a very Autumnal feel, filled with rich tones.

I couldn't go past using the beautiful oak leaves from Colorful Seasons to make a wreath.

Wondering how I got that gorgeous vein detail on the little leaves, check out this post where I tell you how! The challenge runs till June 12th. Hope you can join us ! Now next up, on the blog hop is Rebecca Scurr. Enjoy!

JAI #346 Choose Two

Hello there,
well the icky sticky weather has continued - and so has my search for air conditioning ;) On the positive side I can say that the heat makes glue dry really quickly (more on that below). So this week at Just Add Ink we want you to Just Choose Two. See what Nikki has picked for us this time.

And here is what I came up with.

Where this ended up was not where I started but sometimes you just need to let things go the way they want! I did like the combination of ombre embossing (I used a rolling pin to get the partial pressure so the hearts only embossed on the bottom half of the front panel) and ombre colour behind the detail of the floral thinlet. I gave the detailed die cut some substance by cutting three layers and glueing them together. Then I covered the entire surface with glue leaving it to dry to a shiny glossing coating. Hanging the 'U' from the love sentiment was a quirky touch that just appealed to me so I added it in (and I liked that it draws your eye down to the embossed hearts too).

You can have a lot of fun with the Choose two challenges - do go check out the rest of the design team for some great ideas, then come back and share your take on the challenge!

Thanks for visiting,
Kim
