Just Add Ink #742 Inspiration

 

Hi there,

time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink. This week Nikki has an inspiration challenge for us. It's very lush and green! Here's the inspiration pic. Use the colours, pattern or objects you see in the inspiration picture as the main feature of your project. 

All that leafy foliage really caught my attention. I had the perfect background stamp for that which had yet to see ink. Here's how it turned out.

To start I stamped the leafy background in Shaded Spruce on some Soft Sea Foam card stock. Then blended over Shaded Spruce, Shy Shamrock and Soft Sea Foam in an ombre gradient. Once that was dry I flicked over white gouache paint. For the sentiment I used Versamark to stamp on Shaded Spruce card stock and then white embossed. Once die cut I mounted the sentiment on two die cut layers. A bow of mixed twine finished it all off.

Hello,

time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink and this week Rochelle has a colour challenge for us. Here's the colour combo.

The retired SU! Gorgeous Garden leafy die cover plate was my starting inspiration point. I loved the strong contrast that the Night of Navy card stock gave so that really dictated how I used the colours in the project. Here's how it turned out.

This project is really all about the dies. The only ink involved was blending some Cherry Cobler carefully over the little Pretty in Pink flowers to give a graduated tone to the flowers. Tiny pearls, a touch of Wink of Stella and a little twine bow were used to finish the project off.

Just Add Ink #738 Sketch

 

Hello there,

this week at Just Add Ink Jo has a sketch challenge for us. Here's the sketch.

I knew I wanted to use florals for two of the sketch elements. So pulled out a floral set that has not seen enough use and got to work. Here's how it turned out.

Pink and red is a classic combo, but it took a couple of goes to get the right shades for the three layers. With so much colour in the flowers I kept the background very neutral adding interest with  a faint dotted pattern and subtle dry embossed texture. A swish of wink of stella and scatter of tiny silver pearls finished it all off.
