Just Add Ink #584 Christmas Gift Card Holder or Tag

Hello there,
we are in that rapid slide towards Christmas and with that in mind the Just Add Ink DT are asking you to Just Add Christmas with either a Gift Card Holder or a Christmas tag as your project. My nieces and nephews are always recipients of a gift card each year so this was right up my alley!

Here's how this year's project turned out.

Close up's

I try to make each gift card holder individualised but use the same base elements for each. This year I grabbed the retired SU! Gift card envelope die and paired it with a new die set. I started by working out what colour card stock to match with which DSP and which bauble. Once I had my colour plan worked out then it was just a case of die cutting all the pieces and putting it all together. After folding the gift card holder, I created the DSP sleeve and then tied the ribbon over  both layers. The ribbon also secures the tag to the gift card holder. The tag was likewise simple but had a couple of steps. First I created a base tag card, by die cutting a piece of folded card stock, making sure to leave the tip of the bauble hanging over the fold. Then die cutting a separate single layer bauble cover, which also had the decorative layer adhered to it. All the decorative layers are shiny foil or sparkly glimmer paper - a must for Christmas projects.

The Just Add Ink DT have lots of Christmas project inspiration so please go check them out and then come back and join in the challenge!

This will be my last post for this year. I'll be back Jan 14, 2022 when the Just Add Ink team will kick off the new year with our annual blog hop.

Till then thanks for visiting, I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Kim
