Just Add Ink #380 Sketch

Hello there,
a couple of weeks ago my Mr 9's winter soccer season wrapped up and this year as DH and I were managing the team I wanted to make the coach (one of the other Dad's) a card to say thanks for all the time and hard work he put into the team. This week's Just Add Ink challenge - Just Add a Sketch, from Narelle, was the perfect starting point that I needed. Here's the sketch.

I asked my son if he wanted me to use the club colours and he said yes, so that is why you see the bright combo of Pacific Point and Daffodil Delight. It being a soccer themed card, the hexagon embossing folder seemed to be the perfect, if obvious background. And so all the elements came together to what you see here. I always feel a bit itchy about masculine cards, I want to add more but know that for guy cards sticking with textural elements is the best way to go. So I left the finishing details as the embossing, twine and tiny hint of glimmer paper.

The JAI team has created a lovely array of cards using the sketch so do go check them out and then show us what you've made using the sketch!

Thanks for visiting.
Kim

  5. Such a cool card, Kim. Love that it was done in the club colours, it's such a vibrant and fun creation! Your backgrounds are always stunning - love your application of colour. I shall take your advice regarding masculine cards as they always make me itchy too - apply more texture less other stuff!
