JAI #324 Just add inspiration

Hello there,
well the kids finally succumbed to winter germs and here was I thinking we'd make it through winter without any. Silly me! They were actually off colour enough that they didn't fight which meant having both of them home was not as arduous as it might be normally and once I had all the housework done it also meant I had a chance to stamp. First up was this week's Just Add Ink challenge. This week Trish wants us to Just Add Inspiration with the lovely image below. I can just image lying in the flowers! To join us this week you just need to pick whatever it is about the image that captures your attention - colours, patterns, objects as the focus of your project.

Here is what made of it.

I wanted to capture a feeling of lightness. So I started with a watercolour panel coloured with Pool Party at the top and Pear Pizzaz down the bottom. I also white embossed my flower on watercolour paper then tried to capture the hints of pink and purple I thought I saw in the inspiration photo. The last main element was the woodgrain - I didn't want it to be too strong and dominating so I added a layer of vellum between my flower and the 'picket' fence I created. A two part sentiment and scattering of sequins finished it off!

Don't forget to check out the rest of the inspiration from the JAI team!
Thanks for visiting,
Kim

  1. Once again the inside of your card is as inspiring and beautiful as the card itself. I love the contrast between fence and folliage - dark and subtle, great mix! Sorry to hear you've had germs, us too boo hoo. xxx

  3. I love the summery scene you've created Kim, it's so soft and dreamy. Love that you've created two scenes inside and out, it feels like a peek over the fence...:0) xx

  4. This is lovely. Placing the flower on top of the vellum was a great idea, it softens up the look of the wooden element without hiding too much of it. Elegant!
