JAI 208 Just add a colour combo

Oh Hello,
it's funny where your imagination can take you. On seeing Mae's colour combo for this weeks Just Add Ink challenge the first thing that popped into my head was flowers. I love that crafting lets you take what might seem somewhat unlikely colours and make them just seem right! Here's the lovely combo Mae picked for us this week.

Water colouring has been on trend for a while now and this was my first chance to dip my toes in the water - so to speak ;) It won't be my last either I can tell you! My colouring tool of preference is an aquapainter. To intensify the colour I keep my brush pretty dry, and for this card I actually mixed using markers directly in the areas where I wanted deeper colour then used the aquapainter over that and repeated that process again. I found this worked really well, even on the whisper white cardstock that I used, with very little warping.  I also embossed all my flowers reducing the opportunities for the colours to bleed. I wanted my flowers to be the focus so I kept the rest pretty CAS. I couldn't resist adding that twine bow and a tiny smattering of rhinestones though.

Do check out the rest of the DT for some gorgeous inspiration.
Thanks for visiting,

Hope you are wonderful, hugs and smiles Sharnee :)

  2. I wish I could use my aqua painter on WW as well as you do. Your card has turned out beautifully. I really love the way you used the challenge colours this week - I was quite stumped by them, which is evident in my CAS card lol. x

  3. I can't believe that you got that amazing effect with an aqua painter and inks Kim - it is awesome! Love how you have used the the flowers from the So Very Grateful set and the sentiment and void - totally brilliant.

  4. Gorgeous use of the colours and water colouring Kim. The bold flowers really pop on the whisper white! xxx
