JAI #355 Sketch

Hello there,
well last week ended with me attending and presenting (!!!) at Stampin Up!'s Sydney OnStage event. I hope to be able to show you the samples I made for my Product Spotlight segment soon. Once we got back to Canberra the first order of business was catching up on housework and getting prepared to paint Mr9's room (our Easter project).

My project for this week's Just Add Ink challenge does actually give you a sneak peek of new product coming your way very soon (wink). This week Narelle has challenged us to Just Add a Sketch. Here it is.

I used the sketch as my start point to create a card to celebrate the wedding of a dear friend.

Yes, more ombre ink. I just can't help myself at the moment! Pink and red for me are always a great combination for a wedding. But I wanted to keep it very light so I went very gentle on the red using it for the flower stamens and a small glimmer red heart. I used the sponge brayers to create an ombre background (pink with the faintest hint of red) and then covered that with vellum so I could add an assortment of white, pink and red sequins. I embossed a sentiment within the heart and added a little pop of green by adding two little leafy sprigs.

Do check out the projects from the rest of the team - they will delight you! Hope you can join us and show us what you create with the sketch.

Thanks for visiting,
Kim

  1. So lovely Kim, I can't wait for my framelits to arrive- I was lucky enough to score the stamp set at the end of the make and take session. Love the sequins behind the vellum - may have to try this myself.

  4. This is such a stunning card, Kim - even better in real life. I adore the vellum stitched 'pocket' holding the confetti sequins. Thank you so much for creating such a special card for Brian and I. It's a keeper for sure, and I didn't even pick up on the new product (just assumed it was from your extensive PTI stash). Hope the painting is going well....Happy Easter! xxx
