Just Add Ink #475 Food

Hello there,
this week at Just Add Ink we have a challenge that is sure to appeal to everyone, as this week Kelly is asking us to Just Add Food. I definitely have a sweet tooth, a small measured consumption of chocolate every day is a requirement that I hold dear to my heart! I didn't have a chocolate stamp but a cake (let's just pretend it's chocolate) will do!

Here's how it turned out.

I kept my cake pretty simple, sticking with a limited colour palette. Then I pulled those colours back into the supporting elements of the card. I added texture using two embossing folders and stitched detail, and sparkle by adding silver die cut elements and a fun, bow made with delicate metallic thread (five layers). The last shine element was to cover the floral detail on my cake with the new shimmery crystal effects. To finish it all off a fun sentiment pops out in bold black and white.

The rest of the Just Add Ink DT have lots of lovely projects to show you so please go check them out, then come back and join in the challenge!

Thanks for visiting,
Kim

Colour INKspiration #63

Hello there,
welcome to the Colour INKspiration 63 blog hop. If you are hopping your way around the blog hop, you will have arrived from Kim Oliver's blog. If you are starting the hop here but would like to go to the start at the  Colour INKspiration challenge page over on Facebook, just click the link to be redirected and ask to join the group, that way you can load your projects directly to the Facebook group.

Here's the INKspiration picture for this week. This week it's filled with a lush combination of colours featuring Rococo Rose, Seaside Spray and Gold Foil.

Here what I came up with.

I knew I wanted a strong gold element so I cut half inch strips of gold foil and adhered them to a panel of whisper white card stock then cut using a large stitched rectangle die.

Tip: One of my favourite recycle tips is not to throw out the outside of the frame you just cut but use it to add detail to your inside! If you go back through my blog posts just about any time I've cut the front panel with the stitched rectangle you'll see the outside of the frame used on the inside.

I used an ornate stitched label, but kept it white so it added detail but didn't dominate, to frame the sentiment, and then built up my flower bouquet. As you can tell I succumbed to the lure of the Beautiful Friendship stamp set, in fact this is its first outing!

Hope you can join the INKspirations team and have some fun too! The challenge runs till Monday 23rd September so there is plenty of time to join in. Next up, on the blog hop is the lovely Jan Clothier with something special to show you. Enjoy!
