Just Add Ink #406 Sketch

Hello all,
school holidays are always a little crazy in our house but despite the chaotic nature of them I still managed to squeeze in some time for this week's new Just Add Ink challenge (and maybe a sleep in as well, well until the cat threw up on the bed!) This week Tina is asking us to Just Add a Sketch. Here it is.

Here is what I made of it.

Yes another bloom again this week but it might be the last one....may'be. This week I went with a delicate feminine palette of pale pink with just a touch of navy and a hint of silver. I also resurrected some long retired ribbon. Anyone else remember the wide striped grosgrain? It was perfect to use as the diagonal element of the sketch and add some more texture at the same time. After colouring my bloom I added lots of extra foliage around it using vellum and silver glimmer paper.

The Just Add Ink DT have a beautiful array of projects to showcase the sketch so please go check them out then come back and join in the challenge.

Thanks for visiting,
Kim

Just Add Ink #405 Inspiration

Hello there,
well we are in the middle of school holidays here, which is chaotic but has its lovely moments, like the odd sleep in and fun movie with the kids. I still managed to squeeze in time for this week's Just Add Ink challenge though. This week Kelly wants us to Just Add Inspiration with this great photo. Your project can be inspired by the patterns, colours, or objects you see in the photo.

This is my take, laden with the woodgrain texture in the photo and I also pulled the blue tones from the stripey rug for my flower. It also serves as a farewell to Marina Mist, and (tearful sniff) Birthday Blooms!

I was originally thinking I would turn this into a sympathy card as the tones were more subdued but then struggled to find a sentiment to fit into the banner, so I ended using the more versatile 'Thinking of You". I was in the mood for colouring again this week and well the large flower from 'Birthday Blooms' has been a firm favourite of mine so out it came. I also added extra texture to the Wood Textures DSP by running it through with the Pinewood Planks embossing folder. I tried not to get sparkly with this one as it may well end up as a sympathy card, restricting myself to a little wink of stella on the flowers.

The Just Add Ink DT have a beautiful array of cards to show you so please do go check them out then come back and join in the challenge! Thanks for visiting,
Kim
