Just Add Ink #587 Choose Two

Hello there,
this week at Just Add Ink we have a Just Choose Two challenge from Chantell. The idea being to pick two of the three options and use them in your project. Here are your options.

It's summer birthday season in the family and I needed to make a birthday card for my daughter. I asked her for her colour preference and took it from there.

I kept the design pretty simple - the fancy edge is white on white, and the circle acts as the base for my flower cluster. For texture and colour I used watercolour paper for the background added an intense wash of colour and once dry splattered with Wink of Stella, and white gouache. The flowers were coloured in with SU! blends. Sparkly silver sequins add that final touch of bling.

The Just Add Ink design team have so many fabulous projects to show you so please go check them out and then come back and join in the challenge.

Thanks for visiting,
Kim

Just Add Ink #586 Blog Hop - Summer

Hello there and welcome to 2022 on the blog!
The Just Add Ink team are kicking off the new year with our annual blog hop.

You may have come from Rachael's blog, be starting the blog hop here on my blog, or you can go to Just Add Ink, and then follow the links at the end of each team members blog post on to the next. This year the theme is Summer.

In Summer my garden is filled with colourful flowers, in fact many of the colours you can see in the challenge photo. So I wanted to reflect that in my project. Here's how it turned out.

I decided to incorporate the linear icy pole element from the challenge photo in a colourful striped background, then mute it slightly with a vellum mat. The floral focal element then pulls all the colours from the background together. To add dimension I coloured three additional larger flowers from the floral image and mounted them over the base floral image. A swish of Wink of Stella and a scatter of sequins add sparkle.

Jan McQueen is next on the blog hop, so please go on and check out her lovely vibrant project, and then the rest of the team. Then come back and join in the challenge we'd love to see your 'Summer' project.

Thanks for visiting,
Kim
