Just Add Ink #445 Embossing

Hi there,
short and sweet this week as it's been a busy week and I'm ... well to put it simply tired. The new challenge at Just Add Ink this week is from Rochelle and she is asking us to Just Add Embossing. It can be embossing paste, an embossing folder, or heat embossing or any combination of them.

I decided to add an embossing folder and heat embossing.

I knew I wanted a combination of rustic woodgrain in the background and a cluster of pink through to red blooms on top. I started by stamping my flowers using the Stamparatus, coloured them, and then placed them back in the Stamparatus and embossed the image. That gave me lovely raised glossy lines and also avoid any contact of my markers with the embossing. What took even longer than the colouring was fussy cutting the flowers out. Wink of Stella and sequins add the finishing touches of bling to this rustic card.

The Just Add Ink DT have amazing embossing inspired projects to show you so please go check them out and then come back and join in the challenge.

Thanks for visiting,
Kim

Just Add Ink #444 Colour

Hello there,
family birthdays, school and work kept me pretty occupied this week, but in and around it all I managed to pull out my stamps to put something together for the new challenge at Just Add Ink. This week Nikki has asked us to Just Add a Colour Combo, with a twist ... you get to pick your own third colour!

My colour of choice was Pool Party!

Red, pink with a light teal shade of blue (Pool Party) is such a lovely classic colour combo. I used Pool Party as my grounding shade and for the foliage and that let me go to town with the pink and red for my flowers. Stitching adds some subtle texture, while the black twine adds some drama, and of course some sequins and Wink of Stella add sparkle.

Do go check out the rest of the Just Add Ink DT projects, you'll love them, and then come back and join us in the challenge!

Thanks for visiting,
Kim
