Just Add Ink #552 Inspiration

Hello there,
this week at Just Add Ink Nikki has asked us to Just Add Inspiration. Use elements in the inspiration picture below in your project - it could be the colours, patterns, or an object, just make them a main feature.
May be an image of outerwear, flower and tree

Flowers were a no brainer for me, but yellow was going out of my comfort zone, it's not really a colour I gravitate to. But then that's what challenges are all about. So yellow flowers was where I headed. Here's the result.

I actually turned out pretty happy with my yellow roses. To get some size variation I used flowers from two sets. The big blooms from So Much Love, were very fine lined so to match the line weight with my smaller blooms I went over all the lines with a 0.3 mm marker. The door and its panel pattern inspired the border frame I added to my card, and I added the cloudy sky just because I liked it (and I rediscover my cloud stencil ;). My blooms were all coloured in with alcohol markers, trimmed out and swished with Wink of Stella. I added a sprinkle of yellow gems to finish it all off.

The Just Add Ink DT have, as always, lots of fabulous projects to show you so please go check them out and then come back and join in the challenge.

Thanks for visiting,
Kim

Just Add Ink #550 Colour Combo

Hello there,
this week at Just Add Ink Jo has suggested that we Just Add a Colour Combo. For me the colours were perfectly suited to a flower card, although in all honesty I can just about turn any challenge into a flower card! Here are the colours.

And this is how it turned out.

I hadn't used my Jar of Flowers set for a while and decided it was perfect for this project. So I stamped and coloured flowers, trimmed them out, cut them apart and then created two jar bouquets. Using a black patterned paper against the colours created a nice strong contrast and elegant feel for the front. A cute sentiment tag, a swish of wink of stella and some clear gems finished the card off.

The Just Add Ink DT have some lovely projects to show you so please go check them out and then come back and join in the challenge!

Thanks for visiting,

Kim

Just Add Ink #548 Sketch

Hello all,
this week at Just Add Ink we are asking you to Just Add a Sketch from Jan. I decided to dual purpose my project - it would get me ahead for Mother's Day (coming up here in early May) and also give some love to a neglected flower set from 2020. I do love flowers sets and can never resist acquiring one, two...or perhaps more new ones. Here's the sketch.
This is what I came up with.

My interpretation of the sketch is a bit loose particularly in the layering of the elements, but basically the red rose = the central rounded square, the circle = the lattice behind the rose, and the twine and sentiment = long central horizontal element.

I kept the background and colour palette simple, as I wanted all the attention on the rose. Colouring the rose red certainly achieves that aim! This was really all about the colours and colouring - an ink brayered, stamped and splattered background and the flower coloured with SU! Blends. The die cut lattice grounds the rose and adds in some detail.

Wink of Stella on the rose and some gems finished the project off.

The Just Add Ink team always have lots of fabulous projects to show you so please go check them out and then come back and join in the challenge.

Thanks for visiting,
Kim
